Grace is young and has led a sheltered life. She hasn’t yet taken much of an interest in men. It’s only while doing an internship in London, where she meets the alluring Jonathan Huntington, that our sleeping beauty is awoken from her slumber. Jonathan is rich, incredibly attractive, and stems from British royalty – but he is a far cry from Prince Charming. He lures Grace ever deeper into his world of sinister passion, and she is sucked further and further into the maelstrom of her own growing desires. But when Jonathan demands she do the unthinkable to prove her love for him, she realizes just how dangerous her feelings for him are.
Kathryn Taylor has been a writer since childhood – publishing her first story when she was eleven years old. From then on, she knew that she wanted to be a professional author one day. After a few career detours and a happy ending in her personal life, her dream has finally come true: UNBOUND – COLOURS OF LOVE is her first novel.
Normally I start with the book, but this time I’m starting with the author, Kathryn Taylor. Her first book?!?!?! Oh My Gosh, this woman is amazing! These characters are real, complicated, and extremely lovable/hate-able. I am extremely excited to see what else is to come from this author! Also, this is a translated book, and completely wonderful! Don’t get discouraged if you have to go through other languages before you find one in English.
Okay, now for Unbound…
Grace wins an internship through her collage to work for a HUGE company in England. She is extremely excited, and nervous. She has even gone so far as to memorize the company’s online profile. Upon arriving at the airport, in a completely new place, she spots the owner of the company she will be working for. Without thinking, she walks up to Mr. Huntington and starts saying how surprised she is that he would come to pick her up. Then the true reason he is there clears their throat behind her. Grace is mortified, and tries to escape into a cab as soon as possible.
Only, it doesn’t work. Before she knows it her new boss is standing in front of her, and his assistant is dragging her bags away from her. That is the moment that changes both of their lives. She has no choice but to ride with them to the office, as he wont take no for an answer. At work she tries to contact the apartment she has paid a deposit for, just to find out it was a scam. Annie, one of her new work mates offers her a room at her apartment. Grace and Annie become quick friends, and Grace is torn between her room their, and an offer from her new boss…
Jonathon takes a special interest in her from that moment on, and decides to have her work directly for him. He even offers her the company apartment, close to work. Of course, Grace falls head over heels for the gorgeous man, and doesn’t know what to do about it.
Eventually their interest in one another is too much to ignore. The only problem is Jonathon doesn’t do ‘relationships’, only sex. No feelings, no promises. Grace agrees to his terms and they start an affair. He is her first, ever, and he is making exceptions for her that no one, not even himself understands.
He decides to take her to a super secret club, a sex club, and she realizes she just cant do it. She needs more that just sex. She has feeling for him, and doesn’t want to share him with anyone else. She leaves the club, and before she can get far he comes running after her in just pants, with bare feet. And Unbound leaves us with Grace and Jonathon standing in the rain…
I feel as if I have left a lot out. In reality, I’m sure I did. No worries though, you MUST read this series!!! I will be posting my reviews of books two(Uncovered) and three(Unleashed) very soon. I am in love with Grace and Jonathon’s story, and cant wait to find out what happens. Will they end it? Or will they find a way to make it work? I NEED these answers, and soon! If you read this series please be advised they are full of sex scenes that will not leave much to the imagination. Could be to Fifty Shades, but I honestly enjoy Colours of Love more, it has more heart and feelings.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review. These thoughts and opinions are all mine.
